These games can be enjoyed by the entire family and most can be taken to the beach or pool.
9 Fun Outdoor Games
Cornhole: Recently becoming one of the most popular outdoor games. I recently played my first round of cornhole. I have to admit, it was pretty fun. This set has 100 optional bean bag colors.
When I was a child, everyone I knew played Horseshoes. The game concept seems incredibly similar, but I don’t know which would be more annoying to transport. Hearing the metal clank around in the trunk or lugging the wooden corn hole boards around.
Giant Jenga: Who does not love Jenga? How about Giant Jenga?!
Lawn Darts: This family-friendly version is safe for your backyard or beach. The included carrying bag makes them easy to haul, plus they glow in the dark!
Spike Ball: You can’t sit on the beach without watching someone play this. I’ve never tried it, but when I see people playing it, they appear to be having a good time.
Lawn Bowling: I can see this being more entertaining for the little ones. As adults, we’ve grown accustomed to machines restacking our pins for us.
Paddle Ball: This is the perfect game for the beach, pool, or ocean. There is no net (like pickleball/badminton below) and it’s an incredibly small item to pack. This set includes two quality paddles, two balls, and a canvas bag.
Yardzee: Classic “Yahtzee”! Large wooden dice and reusable laminated score cards mean this game is built to last!
Ladder Golf: I first played this when I lived in Chicago. It’s a fun game that is harder than it looks!
Pickleball: This is my personal favorite game on this list. I’ve always enjoyed playing this hybrid of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong (so they say). I chose a few variations to include here. A portable travel option, a more durable metal frame version if you plan on leaving it up long term, and my personal favorite is the convertible Pickleball/Badmington combo version.
